Default Will WRX springs and struts on Legacy work?

I've found a place where I might be able to get springs and struts from a WRX very cheap. I was wondering if I could basically just bolt in the new suspension bits and have a marketed improvement in the suspension. I checked the search but am frankly confused...a lot of talk about STi parts that I can't afford I also have a wagon, if I get sedan parts would this not work? Do I need to get wagon parts? Thanks.

go for it man, i bought drop springs for a pre-98 impreza and put em on my stock GT, and i love em dude, especially since it required a little bit of customizing fun. but one thing i do know is that the wagon is the same ase the sedan, no diff.

i would wait until someone said if they will or won't work... i do not think that the pre98 impreza suspension is the same as the new WRX... of course i do not know, but posting your question here will hopefully get you a good answer.

The fronts will go on fine. But when you put wrx struts onto a legacy or impreza it gives wacky camber in the rear. I cant remember if its positive or negative but you will either want camber bolts or camber plates for the rear. Would be a good upgrade IMO.
GC8 struts fit our car no prob and feel nice, I had them with whitelines.

Another question I have is whether the new suspension parts in front will change the height of the car at all. With the price it is right now, I may not care, but it would be nice if I could stay in H stock with a better suspension.

New-school WRX stuff uses the same strut tops as the 95-99 Legacy, so fitment will be fine. I'm not sure about camber stuff. I would use new school (GD-GG) for sure, as the weight of the new car is closer to that of the 95-99 Legovers.

Will it work? It's cheap and it's an experiment. Try it and find out.

you may want to try and get wagon parts. the rear might be underdampened if you put sedan struts and springs on it. also, check the curb weights on the cars. if the legacy weighs significantly more than the wrx than the struts would be a downgrade instead of an upgrade. if the spring rates are higher then they might be an upgrade. how cheap is cheap? i got my agx's for 389 shipped and these are adjustable to compensate for the fact they are made for the lighter impreza. i have the legacy specific eibach springs paired with them. i know that the wagon springs have a higher spring rate in the rear than the sedan springs.

Anybody tried this yet? I have a wagon too and I'm starting to think about doing this. Maybe I'll just have to bite the bullet and give it a shot

I've got H&R wrx springs on my 99 BG Outback Wagon. The rear is definitly a little underdampened, so the ride is rough. Look into wagon stuff though even if you have a sedan. Then rear will be more controlled with the higher dampened struts.
