Arrow CARBON FIBER HOODS. coming soon to a SVX near you!

here's what i know so far..

There will need to be a production of 8, that is the magic number. I realize I originally said 5 but with 8 we get shipping included and at another 100-150 a hood for shipping 8 has become the magic number. So the price to your door will be $600.

The hoods are show quality. as in they look as good as you would expect and are being manufactured by CARisma (well respected) They do sub out their work though so i dont really know who makes them. The purchase is also being done through a local shop Perfection Performance, who i have worked with in the past with my other cars. (mainly he will allow us to use his CC machine a big plus for many i would think)

There will be a 1 month lead time from the point that all the money is collected till your hood will be shipped (remember they have to make a mold) and the hoods come complete with latches and mounting points. THERE WILL BE NO SCOOP (sorry guys it drove up the price big...) one could be added though by any body shop i would think.

PLEASE spread the word.. i know there are other forums, most of which are too busy for me to keep track of. EVERYONE is welcome to this and i am shooting for 8 ppl by May 1 2001. that way we could all have our hoods by june...

EMAIL is the KEY!!

(dont pass up the chance to be one of 8 in the us to have a c/f hooded SVX!!)

True, but adding scoops to a carbon fiber hood is not a trivial matter.

Adding scoops to an aluminum hood is.

Our hoods are aluminum, how much lighter would the CF hood be?

I don't want scoops, I want ducts.

Question

....our hoods are aluminum......

Where did you get this info from. Have you actually checked to see if it is aluminum. The hood on my 92 is definetly steel.

Question

I must admit, that's the first I've heard of an aluminum hood on the SVX. I just don't have any way of checking, since I don't have one!
