Default How much did everyone pay for their XS Premium?

My wife and I were looking to get the XS 4AT premium / Without leather.

We were quoted $25,500...

I was just wondering what you all paid for the car?

The dealer we bought our WRX from (Fitzgerald Subaru in Kensington MD) has no-haggle pricing, with all prices available on their website.

Right now they only have one 2004 Forester XS Premium with leather, listed at $24293 (silver with rubber floor mats and security system upgrade). The site says that's straight invoice, although Edmunds calculates it at $24043 with those options. Edmunds doesn't list any marketing support or other incentives for the new Foresters.

Who quoted you that price, a salesperson in the showroom or the dealer's internet sales department? You can usually get a much lower quote from the latter.

Default '03 XS Premium Pricing

Ok, i'll ball park mine since I can't remember the exact amount...

I was in a pinch to get a car since I totalled mine back in January so I went online to the 3 Subaru dealers in my area to see what they had. I found a couple XS & XS Premiums, wrote down the options they had on 'em then went to www.edmunds.com and www.kbb.com and compared retail vs. invoice price for the exact car. I really wanted the big sunroof.

I just called up the dealer and said "I see you have a silver XS Premium MT, I want to buy it, tell me how much you'll sell it for. And oh, I have pages of pricing data from the internet."

I ended up paying about $200 over the edmunds invoice price but I got 'em to throw in about $100 worth of extras (rubber floor mats, cargo nets, etc). I got the XS Premium (MT, no leather) less than what another dealer quoted me for the X model!

I know they still made money on the deal (they always do). But I felt good leaving the dealer in my new XS-P... not that usual "bent over" feeling one gets from a car dealer.

It was the sales manager. He was a straight forward guy... I can't wait to get this car. My wife and I both LOVE the big sunroof...
