Question Simple Q. -- Is my knock sensor in right?

I located the knock sensor in my phase 1 ej22. I wanted to know how far the sensor should go into the block. As it is now, there is a large part shaped like a nut that looks glued directly to the engine block. Then there's another bolt with the wire hooked into it going straight into that. The second bolt is about 1/2 an inch from the bottom nut thing. Is this where it should be, or should I try and tighten it all the way down?

I've been trying to fix a problem with an over active knock sensor, so should I just go and buy a new one?

thanks

You are probably looking at the wrong item. The knock sensor is a ring, aproximatly 1 inch in diameter and 3/4 inch tall with a single 12mm bolt through the middle. The electrical connection is white or grey and has a single lead, the wire is about 4 inches long and snaps to a spot right below and to the right of the throttle plate.
