Default Michigan STi

Just trying to find out who this is...

Someone parked a blue STi with license plate "2004STI" right outside my condo yesterday, on my curb! It was badass, needless to say, and I can't wait to get mine in a few months.

Just trying to see who this is... to say hi! The street was Hunters Circle West.

Nice car!

What dealer are you going to in Michigan? I am from michigan and have had great success with Maple Hill in Kalamazoo.

I am on the STi list with Dwyer and Sons in the greater Detroit area (forgot the exact town's name). They have been very good, writing everything up with a gurantee of MSRP.

It would tough for me to make a decision, cause I just moved from Austin, TX, and I had made my deposit while I was in Austin.

My STi should be coming around Sept. - October. I can't wait.

Irishman - Are you in the Detroit area?

I got my STi at Dwyer and Sons. Gold on Blue. My salesperson's name is Kathy Kaiser (sp.). Great communication and a great dealer. My friend bought his 02 from there. I highly recommend! When is your STi coming in?

No I am from the Kalamazoo area in west Michigan. I not sure how the dealer is over there but sounds good they sound like Maple Hill here in Kalamazoo. They didn't even make me put down a deposit. My dealer was Bill Baird and he was awesome. Hope you get your car sooner the September. Winter will be coming up fast.

AZNFTSH- Yeah, my contact is Kathy as well. I did everything over the inetnet since I placed my order in Austin. I'm now in Michigan, but I still haven't seen her in person. I've been to the dealership though, and it's a nice small place. you are right, the communication between you (the buyer) and Kathy is excellent. She sent me all sorts of brochures when they first came out.

She told me to except mine to come in between September to October. I hope to get it sooner than that though. How many miles was on yours when you got it? Any other info. I could use about Dwyer and Sons?

There are already two STi's here at work, one silver and one blue... I can't wait to get mine.

I got mine with 7 miles on it. She takes good care of the cars. Mine was parked in back. There is not much else to say about the dealer. My buddy has had no problems with them and hopefully we don't either. Everytime I go in though they are selling about 3 WRXs. I think they are the best Subaru Dealer around Detroit. The other might be Suburban but they are kinda jerks. I would stay away from them. Any plans for the car once you buy it? A nice stereo or something else?

My car is "2004STI". I think I may have been visiting your condo complex to check out a Civic for sale (blown motor, for a friend's younger brother). I actually live in Garden City but I work in Troy.

I actually got the car at Langston Subaru near Pittsburgh, PA and they were FANTASTIC about getting me the car, despite the long distance (thanks Rich, Keith and Brian!). I was frustrated with all of the local dealers in trying to order one way back in January and February and, then, my poor service experience with the Detroit dealers and my 2002 WRX confirmed my inclination to buy out of state.

On the upside, before I sold my '02, I got hooked up with the Ann Arbor dealership (pretty small, stand-alone dealership) and got very good service there.

Cool Both Sides in One Drive

On the way to work this am I saw a WRB/Gold Sti southbound on I-275 just before I-94 ....and later what to my surprise.... a silver EVO southbound on I-275 about at the 7 mile rd marker. The EVO is my second "sighting" as I saw a yellow w/ manf plates westbound on I-94 back in late May. The WRB/Gold Sti is my 1st full sighting (other than my "baby") and a 1/3 sighting last week (over the concrete barrier) I-696 near Orchard Lake Rd.

Keep the rolling rubber side down of course!

ae82gtm - We've got a black with gold and a blue with silver coming in this week. These are the first STIs that haven't been sold before arrival. We're letting them go for MSRP. We're the largest dealer in the state, but with 140+ Subeys right now we have to make some room. I'll personally make sure that you get the best service available anywhere. I've had enough dealerships piss me off to know how not to treat a customer.

The yellow one you saw was an EVO VII owned by GM. asquaredrex brought it to one of our BBQ meets.

RJMO: I'm in Wesland right now (soon Farmington Hills).

You guys ought to check out the Mid West Forum and try to come out to the Tuesday night BW3s meet.

I have had many friends buy cars from East Imports in Grand Rapids and they are very good at treating people with respect.

mbiker97,

So the General has a EVO.....in order to beat them you better know what they have.....

I finally found the Tuesday meet location this week about 9:45p but did not stop(not in my car). So now that I know where it is, I'll be back, kinda planning for the 12th of August. Trying to get EVOKLR (plate) to come out as well as the other Cincy purchased STi's for that night.

Stopped at Hodges today(oil filters) and they were delivering a Black/Silver STi. Guy headed north then east on 696 before exiting onto I-75.
He looked Happy! Car looked good, I wasn't pleased as I had left my camera(like my wallet - I usually have it) at home. At 65mph I did notice the wing "flutter" in the center. Again, the car looked really good!!!! First one I've seen up close, rolling. Made me envious, I was in a Deville.....I didn't say that!!!!!!!!!
Overheard the salesman say that customer bought it to race. Salesman also was venting.....claims he's tired of answering all the questions about STi, why don't people ask about the Wrx on the floor. (it was a bethere)

don't be so sure that this is a car owned by GM outright unless you know someone at GM. There is/was a rental Evo (for rent to car companies for evaluation & such) in the SE Michigan area, someone I know had it for a while. it's now been sold or will be shortly.

I saw the same car (either the GM one or the rental) headed N on M-53 near Romeo a few months ago as well.

Other than a few sightings of a NJ Mfg-plated WRB car earlier this year, I've only seen STi's at Hodges (they're 4 blocks from my house) and in my driveway. I know they're out there, just haven't seen them on the road.

Yes, I am aware ALL MFG's lease each others vehicles for some period of time. But they also will purchase selected models as well. When I said (have) I meant in there possesion.

where is everyone at? I'm in Canton, just moved here 4 weeks ago, so I'm looking to meet up and talk cars with a few of you when I get my STi, hopefully in the next month or so.

I'm in Ferndale, right down the street from Hodges.

in the past Hodges has had a get-together around the Woodward Dream Cruise (two weeks from now ?), likely more discussion of it in the mid-west forum.

Like 1st Scooby said, I'm at 11 and Gratiot, but you may see me out by 12 and Woodward alot as I am the manager at Specmo Autosound and Speed. I'm sure that I'll be hanging out front all day at the cruise in a few weeks. It will be the lot full of *** hot rods(hehe). Seems like most of the STI owners in the area all live within a few blocks of the 696 autobahn to take care of our speed addictions...........
