Question speed signal for navigation system

Does anyone know if the STI has a speed signal (AKA speed pulse) for navigation system (used to estimate your location when there is no satellite signal)? There is no navigation system option from Subaru so I assume the answer is probably no.

yes it does...

looking at the right-most wire harness attached to the right side of the gauge display, it should be on the top row, 3rd from the left. if i am not mistaken. and it should have some yellow on it. sorry, i dont have the service manual pdf's in front of me, but i know its there...and the rpm signal is in the 5th position from the left. off the top of my head, dont quote me. . but yes, simple answer is yes, it does. when i go home later tonight, ill look for you, if no one has responded yet.

Can anyone recommend a good installer for this type of work. I know if I try to do it myself it will end up costing me so much more to fix the care later...
Im in NYC

Thanks

I have everything installed in my nav system and am looking to finish up. The speed sensor wire is the only thing I can't locate. Thank you for any help.

ok looking at the page in front of me, i was pretty off. oops. haha. anyways, if you remove the three plus that go into the gauges, look at the one thats closest to the passenger side.

it will be a 10 pin connector. if you look at it with the lock face up, pin #1 will be the leftmost hole. (keep in mind i said HOLE and not wire, since there are some blanks, and if memory serves, the leftmost hole is empty. anyways- i BELIEVE the speed sensor is hole #2...because im 99% sure i hooked up the tach signal wire to #5. so anyways, if you go to the hardware store, and get a solderless wire splitter, you can do this with absolutely no problem at all. and no hassles. just hook it up the wire coming out of hole 5. it will be a green wire with a blue stripe. tap there, and youll be all set.

gotta love getting all the service manuals for 20 bucks. i sound like a subie tech.

...on second thought, i probably know more than most subie techs at this point. lol.

For Navigation systems they need the speed sensor signal, not the RPMs, right? If so, then shouldn't the wire they tap into be C2(Green and Black) instead of C5(Blue and Green)? Or am I just confused here?

he/she probably read the pdf incorrectly. speed sensor is C2 Green/Black, you can grab this wire off the ECM as well, B27 Green/Yellow.

You have any more directions into.

1. Finding the Ecm
2. Finding this wire off the ECM.

I understand it is Green/Yellow but what is B27?

From what I can make out looking at the service manual PDFs, the ECM is somewhere in the passenger footwell area. B27 is the label on the pole that Subaru has in the FSM. There should be 5 connectors side by side going to the ECM, the one you need to look at is the middle one (B135). There should be 35 poles on this connector, and pole 27 is the rightmost pole on the second row from the bottom (pole 1 is top left). At least that is what I make of the diagram I see before me. If I remember to, I'll take a look this weekend when I do my audio install.

you dont need to find the ecm. just tap into the wire behind the gauges. its all there, and theres plenty of room back there.
