Floor mats & Oil filters Finally!

Timmons Subaru in Long Beach actually got in oil filters and STI logo floormats.I ordered 10 filters but they would only give me two.I also picked up some mats. They threw them in for free but they want $180 for them(yeah right). I will probably get the blue ones from Grahm and sell these.

I am pretty shure they had these made.They apear to be very nice quality subaru floor mats with no logo that were sent out to have the STI put on them. It is about 5" L X 2 1/2"T with pink thread, Looks nice.I might post a pic tomorrow.

I do not have the filter handy but it is the part number is the same as the wrx,acept the last to numbers are 80 instead of 60 or what ever the wrx is.

Happasaiyan- Why do you not like the blue ones?Are they poor quality? I have been waiting for some reports on them before I use the ones I have as they are still in the package.

I got a bunch of oil filters from my dealer and they are smaller than I expected. I am used to seeing them the same size ast a Honda filter but they were about an 3/4" smaller in diameter or so. Seeing it that small makes me what to change the oil/filter sooner.

actually, the quality is excellent. the coloring, however, is not. the blue is a little too bright, and if you check the other floor mat post floating around here, i posted some pics. i got impatient and a little frustrated with the mats, so i actually ordered some this morning from the main company who makes the blue ones i have, autostyle, and got them the way i want them. (black/black with just the sti logo). but if you act quick, maybe i can do a quick swap with you...whoever bites first, gets em.

STI can use the same WRX/ 2.5 oil filter. Why insist on overpriced suby part?

LIke many of us, it's probably due to anal retentiveness. I won't buy non Subie oil filters. Crap, I just bought a gallon of Subie antifreeze, I'm so anal with my engine.

But, to actually answer your question, I would buy the overpriced Subie stuff if my car was under warranty and I had read even one instance of detonation or pinging. NEver know what they'll try to blame a blown engine on if you have to warranty it.

But, after my warranty was up, I became anal retentive instead of warrany aware. Funny how that happens.

I paid $12.18 for two filters I do not feel that is over priced for the correct filter as they do have a little different specs.

The oil filter is the same exact filter as an automatic tranny filter on an RS
