Default Shift light question...

Search appears to be down for the moment, so hopefully this hasn't been posted:

In another thread, someone mentioned "setting the shift light and buzzer". Are they adjustable, so you could for example set the light and buzzer to go ballistic at 4000rpm during breakin? How is this done?

Speaking of breakin, how long is the recommended breakin?

while the car is not in motion, or maybe just in neutral, but i wouldn't mess with it while driving anyway, turn the left dial left or right to set your rpm. Every twist is 100rpm and is represented by the lower left lcd display and also by the needle moving to the appropriate rpm on the tach. If you hold the thing down it'll autoscroll at a quicker pace.

After you set it, let go of it for a second and it should beep, at this point you can toggle the beeping on or off by using the left dial, after you're done with that just let it go and it should beep twice and the needle will go back to zero, while the lcd display goes back to outside temp.

ahhh...my bad.

well, in that case, yes, you can set it to light up and beep at 4000 rpm (or whatever you so choose). It definitely helps me during my break in. Otherwise my eyes would be on the tac (and not the road) for the first 4 gears

as for break in, i believe its under 4000 rpm for 1000 miles...or as long as you can hold out

enjoy it when you get

10 months???? Are you not in the financial spot to buy it now? If you are, look around for one... They are all over the place at dealerships.

good luck,
Adam

Yeah, it's a financial thing. I get access to a bank account around that time, and I'm hoping there's one exactly how I want around that time, otherwise I may have to wait a bit more.

I'm pretty picky, I want:

WR Blue
Gold wheels
wheel locks
auto-dim mirror/compass
armrest extension
No security upgrade (gonna go aftermarket)
less than 10 miles on the clock.

So I imagine it'll take some looking around :P

Damn that sucks... In 10 months there should be plenty sitting around in the dealerships and the mark-up should be virtually a thing of the past...

Have fun when ya get her!
