Default Simple RS Turbo setup...does this really work?

I read a thread in the for sale forum and it said an easy RS turbo setup would be stock WRX turbo, header, IC, BOV, fuel pressure regulator, and an oil line for the turbo, then just a custom up and down pipe. Is this really all it takes ? I didnt think it could be this simple. If it is, please let me know because I will certainly try it.

well mabye it would be good to get a j/s unit to help retard any knock if there is any and also use the voltage clamp ability so the ecu doesn't kill the car when you go into boost.

You can't use the WRX header, it conflicts with the crossmember and water pump. You can make custom headers...

What about using the Borla Headers for the RS...also if it is "illegal" to drive around with cats how do people get away with putting on Turbo back exhausts? Is it because its for "off road use only" ???

Decade old thread bump? Really?

Anyway, J&S was a company that made a piggy back unit that would retard timing under knock conditions. Worked well (for the time) but there are much better options available now (Hydra, Link, AEM etc)
