What EJ20 did you put in your Forester? A turbo EJ20? Going from a naturally aspirated EJ25 to a turbo EJ20 should require MORE not less fuel. Usually this can be handled by simply installing an uprated fuel pump.

We need more info from you. What engine did you put in your Forester (year/model your EJ20 came from). You have no location in your profile, so I'm assuming you're talking about a USDM Forester which would mean EJ25, but that could be different if you're overseas.

your going to have REAL issues using the stock ecu as it has a 1 bar map sensor .. so when ever you go above 3 psi it has no idea whats going on .. unless you used the ej205 map sensor .. then it ... who knows... this was a bad idea

i am suprised it works at all
i can't express how much better it will run with the right ecu

Hi, it is a EJ25 forester that swap to a EJ20T engine, everything seems okee, but the tech told me that the fuel get to rich, so the somke come out from the exhuast and also after turn off my engine, turn it back on about 15min, the engine will start but the engine rpm won't go up even i step on gas, it need to wait for arrround 5 min. the tech told me that is because the fuel is tooooo rich, so the spark plug got wet and the rpm won't go up until the spark plug got a bit dry. we try to unplug the MAF sensor the car seem run unstable, but no somke coming out.

You definitely need some sort of engine management. I didn't catch the part about running the stock EJ25 ECU the first time I read your post. I'm with Jaxx, I can't believe it's running at all.

At any rate, the UTEC sounds like it would be a fantastic option for you, but I'm not sure if it works with the EJ25 ECU.
