Default ECU-tek or UTEC Simple question

if i get either one customed tune will they lose the information if the battery goes dead or is unpluged for more then 5,10,15 or even 30 minutes.

and if you feel like answering which one would you prefer?

I chose ecutek and the information stays for both. For ecutek the information will revert back to how the tuner first programmed it and not the "learned" settings you may find after driving for a while. Check out mike from kingpin for ecutek tuning. Either way there should be a dyno day in march for utec and ecutek

Ecutek vs. utec is subjective, basically if you want to fiddle, utec, if not ecutek. (very simple breakdown)

also, if you plan on upgrading a little at a time, i'd say go with the utec, there are more utec savvy people in the NYC area. Hell you can drive down to turbo-xs for a tune if you really wanted to.

I have ecutek, dyno tuned by shiv, which was really nice and the car runs great, but if i want to add/change anything i've either gotta send my ecu to CA or wait till he comes back again.

If i had to do it again i'd probably start with the utec then sell it and get a reflash once i was happy with my parts.
