Question STi stereo blanking plate

Has anyone got a good photo of where the stereo head unit mounts in a USDM STi? From what I recall... in the double DIN slot there's a little compartment where you can put stuff... and an STi embossed blanking plate?

Please correct me if I'm wrong... but I'd really like to see a photo of the blanking plate.

Yeah, I've seen them myself but for the life of me I can't remember where... and search is turning up nothing.

Here's mine. Please note that I put the radio in the bottom slot so that I can change CDs/use buttons while I have a cup in the holder. I also know that this pics is HUGE.

Question

While we're on this topic, anybody know how to modify the blanking plate so you can stick it over a removable face stereo?

I sort-of did it by cutting one of the end posts and taping them back on at a different angle (didn't want to make it permanent until I got it right), but my skills are lame and it tends to hang down and eventually fall off.

I was thinking it would be cool if it could fit over the bin/CD holder pocket. I'm even toying with having just the blanking plate and the deck, rather than the deck and the holder.

I ran the blanking plate and the stereo below it. Why? Because with the face off you really have to stare at it to see that there is a stereo instead of a black ugly sack of .....

instead of the blanking plate y not just put the legacy din pocket in there. Someone on here did it with their sti and has pics of it in the audio section. I ordered mine for about 20 bucks already, that way you can put stuff in there and still have it concealed

not on here on i-club
