Just wondering does anyone know if RS half shafts will fit a 96 wrx wagon diff? I was told that the wagon had 4.11 and had LSD. Can anyone confirm this?

Little off topic, but I just looked up the price of 22011GA022 - 3.90 clutch-type LSD off XT-6. They want $3,108 plus shipping. Sweet.... I'll take 3!

I haven't seen an answer to the anywhere from my searching - I was wondering if anyone knew whether/which of the viscous LSD units for the R160 from various US/JDM Subaru models are the same. No talking gear ratios here, but the slip torques and other LSD characteristics. Basically, I wondering if some are stiffer than others. I have a V2 Sti RA one laying around here for example, but unfortunately the splining / retainer clips don't match up with my axles

Just the axles. Everything else will bolt up to your 93. Do you have stubs on your diff now? (you'll have rollpins just outside the diff) If so I may trade you for some 98RS axles that are believed to work with the VLSD diffs.

I'm with him, but I actually need to know what my center differential and rear open differential final drives are (ie if center is 1.0:1 and rear is 4.111 or w/e) I have the 2.5i 5MT non-turbo. I can't find this info in any of the stickes.

How would this affect handling? Im not used to the handling dynamics of awd cars, i've tracked with e36s and miatas with and w/o lsd but a rear lsd with slipping front, would that help the car rotate out of corners?
THe reason i ask is because I'm looking into buying a 2.5rs to build into a doubleduty street/trackable car and the 98 im considering doesnt have a rear lsd(i think). [/hijack] |

Since I can't post a New Topic and its not covered here. I have a JDM V7 STI LSD Rear Diff New in the Box. What are the differences between this diff. and my stock 02 WRX differential? Are they similar? Could I swap the R180 V7 Differential into my 02 WRX?
The reason I ask, I have 80k on my 02 and I'm pretty sure the limited slip has seen better days, and this is a brand new unit. |

Hey I have a 2007 2.5i and I was planning on putting an LSD in the rear. I had looked around and it doesn't seem like Subaru made many 3.90 r160's...looks like Subaru loves the 4.11/4.44. Is there a way to put a 2002+ WRX rear lsd on the car and just swap out the ring and pinion (the ones from my open diff and put into the wrx lsd)? or is there more work then just that?

yes, you can simply swap the differential into your case or you ring and pinion into it...just be sure to set the lash properly....you'll probably want to have a tech do it if you don't have the tools.

Seems easier to swap the ring to the lsd and put that into the case. It avoids messing with the pinion.

My research shows that there were 3.083 and 3.272 VA2 type LSD diffs produced for export on the Legacy and Outback with the 3.0L. Has anybody seen these, know where to get one, and know if they can be swapped into a US domestic T-Type LSD diff?
I'm building a custom rear end out of Subaru parts for a project car, and I need lower gearing than the 2002 WRX's 3.54 to match the bike engine I want to install. |

Male axles?
Ive got a 99RS diff sitting in my basement, it has two holes for the axles to go into i spun the front and both sides turned, does this make it a LSD? |
