Post Part to cover hole left in wheel well...

I should have asked this a while ago but oh well...I have a JCSports intake and am wondering if there is a part you can get to cover the hole left in the passenger side engine bay wall after removing the stock airbox and tubing. Just curious. Thanks

Rubasu

My 2001 Rs came with a plug in one of the holes. The front one. They didn't put the intake through the inner fender that year.

You can get the plug from Subaru. I don't know the part #.

I don't think you want to cover that hole. That hole is from the front of the car through the fender. It provides cooler air than what would be sucked from the engine bay. You should try to manufacturer something to manipulate this air directly to your intake from this hole.

I have a MY99 and bought that part from Teagues Auto. It was something like 5 or 7 bucks. I really didn't think there was going to be much air flow through there, so I did it for looks. Anyway.....it's up to you, but the part is available.

I was thinking that the part number was on North Ursalia's site... anyway, I have one. Got it for free from a vendor.

Very useful if you delete the silencer and remove the bumper vent-- you draw cold air from the fender.

If you opened the hood vent, that will let heat OUT but cold air will not come in. Think about the airflow over and under the car... air is going to rush in the grill, and maybe some of it will go out the hood vents, that's what they are for (if you remove the covers). Air won't enter the engine bay from them unless you have a scoop!

colin, on what I said, you are right. I just kinda didn't think as I typed that. I know it let's the air out, especially with my 22B vents, it's exagerrated. Either way, more air flow around the filter is a good thing. (i would think)

<FONT face="Comic Sans MS">ColinL is correct... if you need the part number, it is on my site under 93-01 Impreza. It's only about $7, so you can buy it and try it with it on and with it off for no major loss.
