Default Fun stuff to do in San Diego area

A buddy and I will be down in the San Diego area partly for his work, but the rest of the time for play. What's there to do for fun other than the touristy stuff. Bars, clubs etc. Thanks

The Gaslamp is not bad, plenty o' bars. And if you're looking for restaurants, search this forum under my screenname and 'San Diego' and you'll find a good list.

If you like girls go to Pacific Beach. Especially Thursday and all through the weekend they are everywhere. There's plenty of bars and clubs on Garnet.

what's up?
New to San diego area and since we are on the subject of fun? anybody could tell me a good place to play with my car?? Tired of high ways and straight streets. An old road, national park or anything with long roads, no people ( after 12 am) and tons of curves (hills will be a bonus). Thanks

spdfrk77 head up the 67(thats right... right?) to palomar just becarefull they are all blind corners, come karting with us one day too.
The gaslamp is nice but its not cheep... Then again there isnt much left that is cheep, PB(Pacific beach) has a higher perbar ratio and the people are nicer.

Milan you ever been to the field? Its by far the best bar downtown.

don't forget to take a cruise down the Pacific Coast by the beaches from La Jolla down all the way to Ocean Beach if you're into cruising for scenery.

But i never done it... hmmmm but it would be interesting. i'm so used to just me or one of my friends on the road. So the next time you guys go tell me and I'll see if i can. I have driven to ocean beach on the coast line but the constant stopping and going is drving me berzerk. But the coast line is realy enjoyable.

Hey spdfrk77,
I am thinking about driving up to Palomar this weekend, too. I'm kinda playing it by ear, waiting to see what comes up this weekend. But there's a good chance I will be up there Sunday morning. I'll keep you posted.

USA1 if you do decide to go tell me. I'll jion you, but I really want to check out 67. It sounds like the roads in Japan, I'm getiing excited I just wonder do they have those little mirrors at the turns to check for incoming traffic?? I have heard of the Tavern but not much. I mostly hear about is the Fox and cafe Sevilla.

I normaly go to www.mapquest.com and trace a root up the 67, down some random roads.... makes it easy to find your way back.

But do be very carefull out there, be ready if someing goes bad.

Im going karting this friday... after I change my oil, tranny, rear diff.
