Default Equal Length vs. Stock Shape Sound

Just reading a few posts on exhaust and wondered about this one. So how do the two compare, all other exhaust components being equal? Is equal length louder? Quieter? Just different?

stock ones are pretty much equal length. if you get other equal length headers, like TWE, MRT or Cobb, it won't be THAT much louder and the tone will not be THAT much different. However if you will go for Borla headers which are not equal length headers, you will get much meaner sound (in the good way).

Power-wise, equal lenght aftermarcket ones generally give better performance gaines.

sounds very cool w/o headers.... very loud and BRRRRRAAAAAAPPPP!!!! I played w/ it when I installed motor mounts, I think I want my exhaust to sound like that somehow. Maybe dual exhaust would make that sound? That loses power though, no?

So you had open heads and started the car?

That's not really smart to do.....
