Default Oil Temp Gauge

I just bought the S7 gauge package from AC and their instructions have got to be the worst ever. Does anyone know where the best spot to hook up the temp sensor is? Is there a stock bolt that I replace with the one they gave me? I don't have to tap anywhere do I?

I understand the optional OEM oil temp sensor is plugged into the oil drain hole in the oil pan.

I'm also interested in alternative locations since I'll be adding one some day.

If you don't have or want an oil pressure sensor, you can use the port on top of the engine. There's a large allen bolt under the front/passenger side corner of the intercooler. Take off the intercooler and look down where it was. I use this for Oil Pressure.

Default sensor

I am picking up a stock drain plug and having it drilled and tapped for the sensor that came with the gauge. In effect I am creating the OEM oil temp sensor.
