Default Overboost cel in STIi not present??

I had a tube become disconnected on my factory boost control line. It resulted in overboosting for a brief moment (to about 20 psi ). I was shocked that no CEL registered. On my old WRX, overboosting beyond about 16.5 psi resulted in an immediate CEL. What's up with the STI ECU?

Trust me, it's in there. You have to boost that much for 3 seconds for it to trigger. I hit it just boosting 17.8 PSI for 3 seconds.

I've hit it too... in 5th gear on the track.

Well, I certainly let up when I saw the boost spike that far, definitely not 3 seconds. But in my old WRX, simply TOUCHING 16.5 would result in a CEL (no 2\3 seconds required). I wonder if the delayed CEL is an indication of more widespread "delays". That COULD explain the 4k det, which seems to last a couple seconds, max.

Hit it 5 times now, takes 2 to 3 seconds to throw CEL
