Is there a program in place for Canadians to use that is like the Subaru US VIP program, where membership is various groups (mountain biking, geologists, etc.) for a certain period of time allows for invoice pricing on new Subies?

Membership is $35 a year I think. It's not invoice pricing, but it's usually a significant no-haggle discount. (Not available for STi's.) Doesn't only apply to Subarus either. |

Looks pretty good (membership cost is now $56, though). I am assuming anyone who has used this service has been satisfied with the results? The purchase would be a 2004 or 2005 Forester, XS or XT.

Okay, I see where I went wrong. Renewal is $39.
We bought a 2003 Acura TL Type-S last year and, without haggling, received $2000 off MSRP. They were brand new models at the time. If we had been willing to take a Silver 2002, the discount was over $3000, but we started looking too late... they were virtually all gone by that time. (And we're not Silver type people.0 If I had been willing to buy a WRX versus an STi earlier this year, it was ~ $2300 discount without haggling, plus 15% off on accessories. The APA directs you to a specific dealership in the Toronto or Montreal area with whom they have an agreement (don't know if they can help you outside those areas.) However, all of the other dealers that I spoke to said that they'd match APA pricing. On the other hand, if you're a good haggler, buying at the right time of year, you can probably do better. It comes down to your choice. $56 vs. $2000. If you're getting nowhere with your haggling you can give it a try. |

Plus if you're a member of any CARS affiliated club (rally clubs in Canada) and you buy a new subaru, you're entitled $500 back from subaru canada....
One condition is you need to be a member for at least 3 months..... Robin |

No luck with the APA working deals in Calgary. I can get the invoice pricing from them, though.

How do I find out more about this $500 Subaru rebate.
We're thinking of buying a Forester sometime soon, but we could probably wait 3 months. |

The best way would be to talk to your local dealer. Just give them a call.
