I just took the 13th out the equation. Sorry for the mixup. Check first post for changes....

I like the idea of having it on the 6th.

Can we noobs get some more specific details on what type of event this will be?

I understand it will be a roadrally, but what more would I need to know? Do I need to bring anything special (calculator, gps, etc)

Can you recommend some info for me to read so I will understand how the event works?

I assume I will need a co-driver? (already had someone vol. just curious)

Thanks a lot,

Scott

O, and the date! Thats a really important part! How soon can we expect to have the date locked in????

As far as the dates go - as of now it looks like most of us are planning on Sept 6. That date is the best for me as well.

As far as things to bring to the Road Rally - I would say I would just bring yourself and room for fun. This isn't really going to be too serious - just a bunch of enthusiasts seeing who can follow directions - and stick to the speed limits the best I think that GPS systems might be an unfair advantage - so I'm going to have to say those probably aren't going to be allowed (Unless you have enough for the rest of us)

You can bring a co-driver - or just meet up with someone else at the meeting beforehand.

I'm really excited there is so much interest in this - should be a lot of fun!

Discuss . . .

Joe

I'll have a calculator and a stop watch or timer of some kind. Any more than that and it isn't fun any more. you can spend too much time with these items and loose your place.
It will be a good learning trip. I'll have fun, I might even get my wife to drive her car. She will drive as I tell her to. I will be the navigator.

If you guys are really going to do a road rally or TSD style rally, get in touch with Templar, he put the one on for the Highlands Sports Car Club last year and it was GREAT!

Hey Joe,

Don't think I can make it.

I was waiting to reply until I was sure, but I'm going to Italy on the 10th and this is just too close to that date (have lots of packing and planning to do).

Sounds like fun though... good luck!

-Mike.

Yeah, an iternerary would be a good idea. Your wish is my command. Ron and I are marking the course this weekend. Going to try and find some good ol' dukes of hazzard dirt roads too

SWEET

But, will we get in trouble for drifting, or just if we get caught drifting by a car with red/blue lights?
