Question Stromung High-flow Cat

Does anyone have the Stromung High-Flow Cat as featured here ?

It looks a lot like the old Random Tech cats did, only it's a little different in the picture where it's installed along with the Borla headers.

To those who own one: How loud is it, especially if combined with other exhaust elements? What kind of gains did it provide? CELs? How was the fit and finish?

Thanks in advance!

It is very loud, as compared to my just having a Stromung Cat Back. The sound is awesome, but too loud for me. Still not as loud or obnoxious sounding as some of the local Honda's (fart can's).

I do notice better Mid to High power gains. It is hard to tell if my lows have been affected, but sometimes the engine/acceleration stumbles/hesitates a little.

I did get a CEL a few days after the install, and will be purchasing a MIL Eliminator.

The fit and finish are perfect.

I have had the stromung cat section on my car for about 2 weeks now, and am happy with it.

I would purchase a new catalytic convertor gasket for the install. The old one is hard to remove without destroying it. The gasket is around eight dollars, and can be obtained from Subaru, or online at: http://www.subaruwrxparts.com/

Some good reviews of parts can be found at: http://www.subarureview.com/

I have that exact Stromung Cat...literally. The pictures on the site are of my car. Currently running Borla Headers and Stromung Cat, midpipe and dual tip.

The fit is perfect as it is designed to drop into place. I did get a cel, the MIL eliminator fixed that. As for the sound of the cat, I can't really say as I added the Borla headers at the same time. Overall the car is much louder at WOT and more aggressive when accelerating. At high way speed or just cruising it is relatively quiet. Definitely does not sound like a honda.

Benefits are improved power especially noticeable in the mid and upper ranges. Gas mileage also improved about 10% in normal driving conditions. Averaged 30-31 mpg in the Smokey Mountains and 28-29 on the highway.

If you have questions, call Dale at Teague's Auto, he will gladly answer any questions.

Sounds good! I have a custom resonator in my Stromung midpipe (I didn't know that they sold a resonated verson when I bought one!), so hopefully it won't be too loud. I'm very interested, and I'll probably end up buying one. Thanks a lot!

...actually it looks more like a Dynomax ceramic cat.

Random Tech's are much shorter and has a smooth outer shell.
