Question Couple of questions from a subaru newbie....

Ive had a modded, over 300hp to the wheels, DSM for the last few years, went 11s with it, but I am picking up my WRX in the next week or so. =o) I was wondering if there were any easy mods to perform when I do get the car to squeeze a few more poines out of it. I plan on getting the Cobb tuning cat-back exhaust as well as a K&N drop in filter. Don't want to do anything radical like a turbo upgrade, but I was thinking of a Hallman boost controller. I do want to run 13.99s or so with the car in street trim on pump gas. Thanks for the help!!!

There are LOTS of postings about this on this board, but let me suggest you try www.projectwrx.com - there is an intake mod, some electronics, and much more there. Jorge maintains it pretty well I think, and you will get a good idea of where to start. Plus, if you just look back through some of the old postings in here I think you will find lots of information about the things you can do to a WRX to get its horsepower up a bit.

Cheers

I've heard 440 and 460. Not sure which is more accureate. Small change I guess, but it could make a difference to some people who might be thinking of replacing them.

Well I went 11.92 @ 114 mph on 450cc injectors in the Eclipse with no problems whatsoever =o) dunno what that translates to in a wrx but they should be good to go for a while. The 450s weren't too much an issue in the DSMs as it was the fuel pumps inability to supply fuel to the injectors. From what I found looking around, I need to keep the stock airbox to keep my car legal for autox so I think Ill go with a plain K&N and one of those velocity stacks from the airbox to the fender to draw some cool air in. Also the Cobb exhaust looks really good from all the reviews I read on here...as far as a MBC the good ol Hallman, good enough for 9s (Dave Buschur) good enough for me =o).....I have a New Style AFC on my Eclipse right now and was also thinking of transferring it over, but I might wait till someone comes out with a gooood chip for the ECU and stick with that. Later!

There are people doing that with bolt on's... Leo I think if I remember right was running that out in Puerto Rico.

Assuming your getting a 5 speed...

A: Filter mod, with K&N or ITG filters

B: Turbo Back exhaust (BPM, Scooby Sports, etc.)

That should get you to the 13.99's without compromising your warrenty.

If not then pursue the EBC/MBC, and upgraded intercooler options.

Regardless, that should get you to the high 13's with minimal $$$'s invested.

Welcome aboard!
