Default Hella 500 x 4 Light output

Thought I'd post some pics of the light output from my home made light bar. I've had it for a while and its great for driving at night... preferably with as few on-comming cars as possible After you get used to them you never want to turn them off...

A set of Hella 4000 HID would be nice, but these will have to do for now:

Here is the difference (Had fog covers on so no fog lights on at all in any of the pics). Unfortunately I didn't have a camera stand, and it was difficult to hold the camera still.

I'll try to get some comparitive shots of my Hella 4000's on my car. Even the halogen ones are just AWESOME! I can't imagine what the HID would be like.

Looks good though.

looks like a set of both. look at the bottom left, that area is lighted up, definately the fog pattern, or a driving light aimed at the ground. And then the trees you can see a bit further up the road, definately driving pattern.

Definately like where the lights are mounted, doesn't block much airflow to the radiator. like other bars I've seen. Where does it mount to and what is it made out of?

The lights are all driving lights, actually. The stock high beams do a pretty good job of dispersing light to the sides. I don't miss the fog lights at all (never bother to take the covers off ). The Hellas help with the range basically. I have two of the lights pointing a little to either side and that really helps. The other two point straight forward.

Would love to do the same thing with Hella 4000s, but I have a feeling the light bar would have to be a bit stronger, and the 500s are so affordable.

I'll try to post some better pics over the weekend.

This is the same location just with some WRC-Look lights I tried.

Low beams:

High beams (Same light output as low beams, just aimed a little higher)

monochrome?

Default Nice

I went with Catz SRs instead. I am sponsored by www.liteswap.com so all of my lights are Catz products (except for the marker lights and the yellow H3 bulbs, they are by PIAA, ION YELLOW)
2 sets of fogs and 2 sets of spots

(btw, the stock fog lights are HID, they are 6100k, and they are not green, the sun (yellow) light makes it green)

I have 9007 HI/LOW HIDs.

Keefe

You can retro fit your Hella 4000s with HIDs (from Catz's H3c HID conversion kit)

Once again, I have to ask, why do people insist on only show pics of the lights ON THEIR CAR?! Please show us, like Anders' shots, pics of the road with these lights. We would like to actually see what they do.

I would look on scoobymods site (think its Modifications link on the top of this page).

Most good kits come with a relay so you'll prbably need to found some good grounds, run a wire from the positive battery terminal, and possibly some wires from inside of the cabin if you want to be able to turn them off/on indioendantly.

There is also the issue with the switched ground so its difficult to find a proper highbeam + wire to tap.

AK_2002_WRX - I'm actually selling my kit if you are interested. Got some pics here of how they are mounted: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...68#post4413268

I have them setup to come on with the high beams, but you can configure them in other ways as well.

cheers,
