Post Big WRX Turbo problem, Help?

My 1300mi new WRX is having trouble accelerating. The turbo seems to have become totally non-functional and the car feels like a 110hp Kia. WHen the gas is pushed all the way down I don't hear the turbo nor is there any turbo-charged acceleration. The check engine light flashed last night but it hasn't come on since.
Anyone had a problem like this? I'm concerned I may have gotten a Lemon WRX! The dealer (surprise!) denied any knowledge of problems with the WRXs. Is he right? Thanks everyone.

Is your WRX manual or automatic? If it is manual and you are in the wrong gear the car will feel like a kia. Any weird sounds that came from the turbo when you got a CEL? Did the dealer pull any codes from the ecu?

Hey thanks guys, the car is going to the dealer on Monday and it's a manual. I babied this car through the break in period so I've only really been able to push it for 300 miles. I was driving normally when it happened. I'm essentially wondering if anyone else has had this problem because I know the dealer will fix it. It'd be comforting if I'm alone and other WRX's aren't having this problem...

Hmmmmm...

What have you done to it?

What is the transmission?

Do you have access to someone who has an OBD-II scanner

Do you hear ANY sort of turbo spool at all?

Have you looked for obvious stuff under the hood in the intake system? (hoses that have fallen off, etc?)

Stand under the hood and rev the motor and listen for gasping sounds not coming from the intake opening (by the radiator) could signify a intake leak... conversely listen for any sort of leaks near the intercooler blow off valve for things that would prevent your from boosting.

Does the car drive fine... just slow?

Or is it bogging and sputtering?

Do you smell any thing rotten?

When you say the gas all the way down.. are you refering to sitting in neutral and doing it? Or under load on the road at WOT at 6000 RPM?

Just a few things that will help the troubleshoot...
