I was talking to "Vickey" from B-Spec about intercooler options a while back, they can do it for you...If you have the $$$.

Yea, b spec can do it for me but $1500 was not what I had in mind. Front mount is more efficient than the top mount. Top mount looses efficiency by heat from the engine in slow speed or at halt.

James, you are very, very, very wrong, but lets just say you want one, ok? If you want to find out why you are wrong, search the old tech forum.

Let's assume that he's right for a few seconds, even so it's next to irrelevant unless you need 300hp stoplight to stoplight and in traffic.

Also think about what a front mount I/C will do for a major component of you engine's cooling system (i.e. your radiator). Essentially, it will be blocked off by the I/C, which might be even worse for efficiency.

With a ducted top-mount IC (Spearco core), I measured on-road IC efficiencies of 80+% with a pressure drop of less than 0.5psi. With those numbers, I don't see what I would ever want to convert over to top-mount unless I was limited by internal volume or surface area. And that would only be the case in 450+hp output applications. Preferably, with the AC consensor removed.
