I have a Philips 4300K kit and one of the best purchases so far for me. I'm running them through projectors though instead of the stock reflectors. Run a search for "Philips HID kit" and you'll pull up info on where to buy and some more in-depth info.

I bought a set of Catz H1 HID from www.suvlights.com.

But due to some 'ban' regulation they aren't listed. Check another thread in this forum.

Those are H4s, they won't fit your '04.

It depends on the bulb that the '04 uses for low beams. I don't know what it is offhand but someone may post it, or you can just look in your owners manual. The specifications for all the bulbs in the car will be in there. For an aftermarket HID kit to work it would have to be made to replace that particular type of bulb, i.e. H1, 9005 etc.
I have not seen any '04's yet with HID retrofits but if experience with '02-'03's is any guide here adding HIDs to these lights may not produce ideal results since they are reflectors. The light will be bright but not well controlled and will probably cause glare to oncoming traffic.
It is true that the '04 STi has factory HIDs in similar light housings, but the design of the reflectors in the STi is most probably different to accomodate the high output of the HIDs.
If you have the $$ the best thing to do would be to buy a set of US spec STi HID lights. They will bolt right in, in place of your existing lights. Some minor wiring work might be required to connect the ballasts, but you will then have the best light output possible for your car.
Alternatively, you may want to wait a bit to see if the aftermarket comes out with projector lights to fit the '04's. These will provide better light distribution than the OE reflectors and will also be better candidates for HID conversion.

Well, mulder pretty much explained why going STi HID would be a better option. Light output will be better distributed and won't blind oncoming trafiic. The people who ran aftermarket HID kits in the 02-03 OEM headlights had to aim their lights lower to keep from blinding traffic - I would assume that would possibly detract some of the light output since it's not allowing the what would be best light output on the road. That's just a guess though...
