Default Review: ModGeeks - headlight modding

**Update*** Modgeeks was a partnership that has dispersed. The person who actually did my light and did all the light work, Manny, has started a business called DVNT Lights. Please refer all inquires to him with the contact info listed below.

I got my headlights modded today by DVNT Lights, and I was so pleased with the way they came out, though I might as well do a review of ModGeeks, located in southern NJ.

A little background, DVNT lights have over 10 years experience with headlight modding, painting, retro fitting, you name it. They use professional equipment, professionally and properly prep parts being modded and/or painted, paint with auto quality paint from a pneumatic paint gun (not a amateur rattle can job) and cure under UV lamps. They also used extra OEM sealant, which is properly set before they put the lens back on to ensure a leak free seal. For a high quality job for a fair price, they're your guys. For the most part, most simple paint and lens jobs can be done in 48 hours or better. (obviously more complex jobs vary.) For GR WRX/STI's, the job can be done the same day with their reflector swap system. I dropped my '12 STI at their shop in south NJ in the early morning and it was ready to pick up by that evening, can't beat service like that with a bat.

Check them out DVNTLights on Facebook and instagram for contact info and quotes or email DVNTLights@gmail.com.

I had my headlight housing painted flat black with the high beam reflector tinted yellow and the turning signal tinted black chrome. Not only does it look friggin awesome, their reflector paining method retains 90% reflectivity with the yellow and 80% with the black chrome. I also had the OEM projector lenses replaced with clear lenses, upgraded to high quality 5k HID bulbs, color mod and tuned. Here is the result (pictures were taken from DVNT Lights.)

with the lens

As you can see below they fill the whole channel with sealant and set it before resealing the headlight to ensure a better leakproof seal than it come from the factory with.

And on the car

I am really interested in having my entire housing painted flat black and would like to do the high beam and turn signal reflector done in the black chrome. My concern is how well will the high beams/turn signals work and be reflected and if I will pass inspection because of this mod. Do you have night pics or video available or any insight?
