Default PR-Last Ditch Racing Triple Caution Thong at Maine Forest Rally!

Last Ditch Racing is pleased to announce the criteria for the coveted Triple Caution Thong award for the upcoming Maine Forest Rally, August 1-2 in Rumford Maine.

John Cassidy, Last Ditch Racing owner/driver said, "The Triple Caution Thong will be awarded to the team(s) that do the most with the least. We are going to award a thong to the team with the lowest displacement engine that finishes highest up the board. Doing the most with the least is really what a thong is about, isn't it?"

Because of the popularity of the Triple Caution Thong award, and given that the Maine Forest Rally is the team's home event, they have decided to award a thong in both the ProRally and the ClubRally events. "The thong has become a real goal for some teams. We've had requests to award the Triple Caution Thong at events across the US, but we only award the thong at events we attend. It's quite exclusive" said Cassidy.

Said Cassidy of the dual thongs at Maine Forest, "What's better than one thong? We here at Last Ditch Racing think the answer is two!"

Cassidy expects that the forest will be filled with the sound of small displacement engines screaming at redline, all in an effort to secure the skimpy thong. "I expect that instead of red mist, we may see some thong mist among some of the more inexperienced drivers this year."

The Inaugural Thong award was presented to Chris Sanborn and DJ Emmons for gaining the most positions at the recent STPR ProRally. The criteria for the thong award is announced prior to each event Last Ditch Racing competes in.

So, all you have to do this time is finish in a Geo 1.3 Or, maybe a Renault 1.2...

I knew those questions would come up! Honestly, we haven't figured it out. I mean, if you've got grey squirrels powering your car, and you beat a fellow competitor driving with red squirrels under his hood, I'm not sure who we're going to award it to!

The LDR crew will be out at SS1 watching for the flair too. I'd love to see a Mazda 323 flinging it around the corners!

The LDR crew will decide the winner based on a lot of factors, and we don't have them all figured out...that's the beauty of the thong award...it's a fluid decision process, but I think that we'll be able to pick the team that best exemplifies what we're looking for.

Cheers! John
