Default sources and specs for a good/cheap used laptop for Utec?

I just installed my Utec a few hours ago, and am expecting my new turbo (18g baby ) to arrive tomorrow.

Anyway, I need a cheap laptop that is powerful/fast enough to run the Utec software, but won't break the bank either. $100-200 would be nice. I thought of ebay, but wanted to see if anyone has other sources as well.

Also, what are the minimum specs I should consider for this computer (processing speed, RAM, etc etc)

Thanks!

Mark

PS: The search is down right now, so I couldn't check out what has already been said about laptops and Utecs, so I apologize if there are already similar threads.

I'm getting a pocket PC (iPaq 2215) in a day or 2. These things start at $200. One of the apps is to see if I can use it with the UTEC ... I'll post back 1 way or the other.

I bought mine on eBay. If you're patient, you can get a pretty good deal.

I got a Dell Lattitude Cpi-A 366
128 megs
CDROM
floppy
3000 mAH battery (about 2-3 hours worth)
13.3 screen
serial and USB ports.

For just under $300 after shipping. I bought another battery for it from someone else for $75 and a friend gave me a 10/100 card for it.

The best thing is the Lattitude is the corporate type laptop, and I can borrow accessories from people who have Dells at work

Just plain UTEC work is not demanding AT ALL. you can literally get by with a 486 if you want. I wanted to be able to run 1024x768 comfortably. The computer is faser than it needs to be for that.

I regularly use an old Hitachi pentium 1 laptop running windows 95 with the UTEC no problem.
