Default heater hose ok for oil lines?

I changed my injectors this weekend, the cover for the driver side injectors has a metal section of line to join two rubber lengths between the driver side cylinder head oil line and the line attached to the intercooler. I removed these metal injector cover plates (or whatever they are) because I don't think they really do much.

In doing this, I had to replace that oil line system, so I bought some heater/coolant hose at the hardware store. It seems more robust than the original hose and is reinforced. I just want to know if the oil will somehow degrade this hose?

Thanks
Paul

Yes, it will degrade/deterioate the hose. Make sure that you get "trans fluid" or "Oil" rubber hose. Fuel MAY work, but if wouldn't use anything but oil, or transmission fluid hose.

Have you ever seen a radiator hose that expanded like a bubble? Thats from oil. The oil makes the rubber hoses soft.
