Default UTEC Stage 4 FMIC Q's???

The only problem I am having with the base map, is that at real low rpms, with light throttle, the car will die. Almost like its being flooded. I thought that the lower rpms were decided by the stock ECU? I have a laptop, but unfortunately it needs a new battery. Any ideas? TurboXS guys can you help out?

The entire fuel map is changed if your running a stage 4. I would check your map to make sure it's the right one. It should have a value in every cell for fueling.

i downloaded the stage 4 fmic from TurboXS and ran that. I changed all the settings that you are warned to change. Any other ideas? Could it be that the TPS isn't set-up right? I never got a chance to change it since the laptop died on me.

The entire fuel map after the TPS crossover point is changed. So the turboxs base fmic map is set to take over at 50% TPS. Below that the ecu is controlling fuel.

What map are you looking at? All stage 4 map always alter the fuel over the entire map because the stock ECU's program cannot correctly manipulate the STi injectors. Look here if you still don't believe me.

Ok the 0% column is the fuel for 0-50% throttle. I said that wrong.

10% - 100% = after 50% tps

I see the changes you are talking about, but would that possibly cause the car to run too rich at part throttle? I tried to replicate it yesterday when it was a bit cooler here. I did it maybe once, but didn't cut off, and I couldn't get it too do it again. Could it be that the heat is throwing something off?

The heat would affect the way the car drives but not to a stalling point.

Did you reset your ECU recently? I know my car took a couple days to learn the new fuel trims. Other than that I'm out of ideas.

Actually you might want to check in the User constants IIRC for the fuel increase. It might be set at too low of an intake temp and is dumping fuel to fight det.

Yeah a reset was done. Saturday night at about midnight. It was unplugged and out of the car for maybe an hour. Maybe the stocker is stumbling trying to learn the new stuff. I haven't been able to drive it much being at work most of the time since Sat., so maybe a couple of days dealing with it, will give it enough time to learn to fix it. I also try the other settings you wrote about. What should I consider changing that setting too? Thanks for the help.

I'll do that tonight, if I can get the laptop to stay on long enough. That and if I can get the car to do it again. Like I said, it is considerably cooler here now, so it might not do it. I will see though, can't hurt to try.
