Default Big, big problem. Did I blow the engine?

Alright guys, I was just out doing some 3rd gear pulls to see if I had fixed a boost leak I've been having problems with. Got up to about 19 pounds and it felt like hitting boost/fuel cut, except a bit harder. Car just died. I pulled it over and took a quick peek under the hood. It's pretty dark out so it hard to really get a good look, but nothing is leaking. The block doesn't appear cracked. There was smoke coming out of the exhaust but I can't really tell what color it is until morning. If I try to refire the car, it will start if I rev it and stay running until I let off the gas or try to put it in first and move it. Anyone experience anything similiar?

UTEC
SR40
PE800 injectors
APS DR500 front mount
full turbo back, headers, up-pipe
PWR radiator
pretty much all the bolt ons you can do

Anyone have any ideas?

Kevin

Default hose blow off

Almost sounds like you blew a hose off.

I had the Y pipe blow off my turbo outlet a while back, car would run at idle but if I gave it any throttle it would die.

In my case there was a very distinct FOOOSH like a blow off valve when it happened.

You might want to check to see if you have a hose blown off the turbo outlet or a split in the y pipe hose.

Thanks hotrod...even though it makes me a feel a little stupid

I had an intercooler hose in the fender blow off. Never even thought to look at that, was way to worried that it was something much more severe.

Thanks again!

Glad you got it figured out... Infact, the same thing happened to me just this evening as I was doing a 4th gear pull on the highway (trying to get rid of a pesky LS1 Camaro) when my silicon hose slipped off the turbo outlet.... Surfice to say, I lost all drive, and could hear the 'whooshing' noise everytime I tried to build boost...

Yeah, I was really expecting it to be a lot worse. It was a massive sudden loss of power. It was the pipe coming off the intercooler on the passenger side, so when that goes, there is just no air getting into the throttle body. Doesn't take long at all to drown the engine in fuel when it has nothing to mix with. The APS intercooler is of amazing quality but the clamps it came with are absolutely horrible.
