Exclamation WOT rich condition....

Does anybody else seem to notice there 'rx running rich at WOT. mine does, not terrible or anything but slighty noticeable. it's more at 3-4,000 when i'm just cruising then i stomp it. i have to let off gas and ease it a little then get on it. i promise it's rich condition hesitation just alittle and it's not all the time. again not terrible or anthing...i've never had a turbo car before though so maybe i'm not use to having to let it spool up or somethin. just wondering.

i dont see how you can tell if your running rich without a egt. hesitation doesnt always mean rich mixture. it could just be the turbo lag.

The WRX is very rich at WOT. The stock ECU gives the WRX an A/F ratio of less than 10:1 at WOT from 4500 rpm to redline. This was done with a $3k wide-band 02 sensor during dyno runs on my WRX and confirmed with another wide band O2 sensor. The second O2 sensor could not read any lower than 11:1, but was pegged at 11:1 from just over 4000rpm until redline.

Apparently all Subaru tunes all rex's rich. I suppose its safer; the benefit to us is assurance of a more adequate fuel supply come mod time and less likelihood of lean conditions when we push it with some power tweaks.
