FINALLY! Look here if interested in a lightbar!
Well, after 2 months, and 3 prototypes, My lightbar is finally built . Although it is not 100% perfect (there are a few little thing the guys want to fix) the general design won't change.
This was a custom job, but if there are enough people interested in it, they will begin selling these. Price would be TBA, but it would be around 200$ and include all mounting hardware, but no lights (im sure a package could be put together). Also, additional light tabs can be welded on to acomidate for more lights. Here are a few pics...lemme know what you think!

I thought about buying a light bar.. but then again, I wanted to hide all the wires and mounting locations so people wont have an easy time stealing my lights.. so this is what I came up with.. (see below) How about not having a light bar?

Where does that light bar attach to? It looks like it's going under the bumper, then mount with bolts on existing holes.

Keefe,
Do you notice any increase in coolant temp with all those lights? I thought about putting 4 FF1000's there, but was worried. and did you just flip the lights upside down and mount them to the bumper beam? Thanks. Kev Oh...and that light bar looks nice. Is it rigid enough to prevent vibration while driving? |

It's pretty stable, but there is a little vibration (Found that out last night). That is one of the things the guys want to fix. In general, there is the bar, and two tabs welded to it, and then there is a bracket which mounts to the car.
I do plan on painting the connectors eventually, and as for someone stealing them. I plan on getting some of the PIAA light locks. ha-evolution: How does it look cheezy? |

Actually, the camera caught the ambient light (or sun light, yellow) mixed with the HID 6100k (or the Catz HID Fog Kit, blue) made it look green. Keefe |

There's a couple of bolts that holds up the splash/skid plate under the car... www.subarugirl.com has the other kind of lightbar that not only mounts underneath the car, but there are two more flat pieces of metal extension tabs that are mounted where the radiator hangs. I believe they sell the light bar for $200. Keefe |

Nope, I race my car every weekend (autocross or track event) and I haven't had a coolant temp rising yet. If you are worried, you can always get a RALLY hood (sold by www.i-m-racing.com ) and an STi scoop. At least you can get some air into the engine somehow either by the force of air speed or air vacuum, however you look at it. The lights I have are Catz SR lights..they are mounted from the top of the light ( see my sponsor at www.liteswap.com ) and I had to do some minor cutting and some originality to mount the lights INSIDE the bumper.

Previous body style bar available
I've got one of the light bars Rallispec used to make, if anyone's interested. I had it on my '99 OBS. It mounts to holes already threaded in the frame.
