My first was a 1977 Ford Granada Ghia, silver with a bordello red velour interior. Bought it at a garage sale (!!!) for $150. Of course, being a Vermont car the corners of the trunk were rusted out, as was the floor pan in front of the back seat. Large pieces of roofing tin, lots of pop rivits, and liberal amounts of roofing tar took care of the holes! Thankfully, someone has optioned the car correctly, as it came with a 351, and not a 200 I-6 or a 302! Yes, a 351- not a lot of horsepower (140?), but enough torque for the studded snow tires to dig grooves in the pavement! It was also equipped with brand new heavy duty shocks and struts from Midas and a good set of tires. Driven hard, you could hang the tail out, and preform the most glorious 4-wheel drifts... ahh, reckless youth! It went away when Rabbit #1 was up and running, and at last account, it was the most popular car at the wrecking yard, given it's (now) muffler-less 351! Varoom!

My first and only car is my 93 Impreza L. But I have driven:
99 SLK
2000 Boxter
2000 911
Pretty much every Mercedes Benz
2000 Kia Sephia
95 Integra
90 Datson

Yup, I driven a wide range of cars. But I still love my Impreza. Not saying I don't want a Mercedes Benz or a "Turbo" 911...

Man, that '77 Ford Granada was a real piece of work (or insert any other appropriate word there)! Those things were pretty bad. That was generally a low point in automotive history.

My first was a 1973 AMC Hornet Hatchback. The Green Hornet! 360 CI, auto w/727 Torqueflite Tranny and 3.91 rearend. That sucker would get to 60 in under 6 seconds, and do 1/4 mile in the low 12's. It'd do 100mph at 6,000 rpm. Not much for top speed, but it was quick to get there.

When I read the Grassroots Motorsports article about doing 0-60 in just under 6 seconds in the WRX, it got me to thinking how much I need one of those babies. Oh well, maybe later.

First Car: 1987 Subaru GL Wagon.
2WD, black, auto. Inherited for college graduation 1996 with 149k on the clock. Had previously served 100k miles over four years for my Dad. (He had purchased it used). Absolutely loved that car, still miss it. Unstoppable in snow, even with 2WD. Once "plowed" the driveway with it after a 10" snowstorm. Only sold it because it didn't want to run a 100mi per day commute anymore.

Sold it with 189k on the clock for $35 in 1998 for...

Current car: 1993 Nissan Sentra SE-R. Black. Bought with 39k miles on it, still screams at 110k. Great autocrosser. "SE-R" means nothing to most people, only hearing that I drive a "Sentra". A dreadful, creaky, slippery, New England-weary winter car, but top notch fun with the temperature is over 35*F.

Hoping to make a Subaru the next item on this list. WRX wagon way too tempting...

Cool

Well I still have my first truck and my first car! My truck is an 82 toyota pickup with 280,000 miles. I had to rebuild it last year when it finaly broke an oil control ring. I drove it like that for six months! Also it has paid for itself 4 times over!! It has been in 9 crashes! Non of them my falt. But get this only two of them produced body damage (witch I fixed). My car is an 87 Monte Carlo SS witch is getting a richmond 6 speed right now. I waited 5 years for this car and I have done all the maintenance on it since 40,000 miles. It has to manny mods to list. And I am never getting rid of it. I am looking at getting a Subie maby in the near future. Unless GM will build the G8! Hmmm...gess I better not hold my breath! Time to get the Subie.

1970 buick skylark (350 w/4) -- picked a losing fight with a tree.
1974 Super Bettle (Baja) -- fun and keeps up with the big plow boy tricks in the mud.
1980 Topaz -- school ride.
1978 Cargo van -- great for camping and MTB.
1989 LandCruiser -- the beast
2001 RS Sedan -- insert ferris music here.

I do miss the Buick and plan on getting a GS convertable with 455 and hurst 4sd later in life. Factory speed it'll take an ol'goat.

1980 chrysler volare 4 door; granny green.
Learned how to ghetto a jalopy, make it a sleeper, and put more money into repairs than what a car was worth. Straight pipe on a 318 v8 still sounded cool . Kinda wish I still had it.

1993 geo tracker, 2dr/2wd. My Sandblaster!
Modified the intake, aftermarket headers, cat, 2 in. exhaust, MSD ignition, coil, 8mm accel wires. Baddest sounding geo most people had ever heard! Thrashed the synchros before I ever figured out what a lighter flywheel and better clutch would have done for the vehicle. Traded it in before it died at 80k.
ran 9's in the 1/8th mile! All motor baby! (Yeah, I know, "yee ha!" :rolleyes

2000 BRP RS.
I don't think I ever want to own another vehicle...

BoulderScuby, I am right there with you, at 19 I got my Uncles 1988 Dodge Caravan, Rebuilt the engine, Twice, threw a valve at 60 MPH, then replaced engine and rebuilt tranny, at 21 I am still struggling to keep it on the road and Dreaming of a Legacy GT, can't decide on a Wagon or sedan, so I might get both.. okay okay I was kidding ,but I'd love to get an RS turbo it and have the Legacy as a daily driver.
Peace out to all Caravan drivers

First car: 1967 Mini Cooper S

I still can't believe that my dad let me get that! I have very fond memories of the car even though I racked up a horrifying amount of traffic citations with it!!

I blew up CV joints every 12 months then finially sold it when I couldn't afford to keep it running because of the way I thrashed it

The WRX is my return to the Mini: an improbable looking rally-bred pocket rocket that drives like a bat out of hell. The Mini was more tossable, though...
