My first time...ahhh the memories!
It was a 1988 Subaru XT6. This was purchased used in the Bronx from a cellular phone dealership! All of my friends were surprised by the power it had, calling it a "monster" or a "roller coaster". I found out that even though it had a 2.7 liter H6, it weighed under 2000 lbs! (Guess someone in the Bronx knew something I didn't.) The lightweight had a serious drawback, the sucker was always sliding tail-out in the slightest rain. Unfortunately, it met a spectacular end on a snowy highway at 50MPH when someone cut me off. I managed to do a few somersaults (4-6?) in the snow until it rested back on it's 4 flat tires. I was fine, but my baby was gone. God...I miss her.
But out with the old, in with the new!

First car was a hand-me-down from my father. It was an 82' Buick Century. It was a complete POS. It had this transmission problem, it would die and could die at any time. You could start it back up, but it would not go anywhere (bad transmission problem). I use to keep a bike in the trunk for those "just in case" moment. I had it die one time in the busiest intersection in town (on a slight hill), the car was running so I would have the power steering and I was pushing it up to the light (about two car lengths) so I could coast it down the hill and get it off the road. Some woman pulled up next to me and asked me if I was out of gas - the car was still running. WOW

I'd have to say my first was a 1984 Chevy Blazer. It was the last model to have a carbuerator. I tried fixin it up but the damn tranny kept on messin' up. I had headers and exhaust and some wheels. I was still going on it but the tranny just kept holding me back. It still works but only for short rides. I was lookin around a long time for a new car. I just new that I wasn't going to get a damn Honda. I HATE 'EM!!! I was lookin at the Monte Carlo I still like it. But then I saw the that Subaru and just fell in love. The way it looks, All wheel drive, rallying. The only problem was I wanted to see what the 2002 version was going to look like. But when I saw the WRX The specs looked nice but the body was ayiee. So I jumped on the chance to get my '01. Here I am happy as I can be

'93 legacy turbo (bought in '96 and still daily driver)
'85 subaru xt something (bought it from a friend who needed gas money, $120) Going to do some fun stuff with this car (jumps, lots of rallying, etc.) We'll get it all on film so I'll post it when we're done.

I had a first truck actually!

A little ol' 1988 Ford Ranger. Black. Regular cab. 2wd. 2.0 litre four banger. (Emphasis on banger!)

It had like 0 weight in the back, so it was a lot of fun rally racin' on backroads! Perpetual oversteer was the name of the game!!

Anyway, got hit by semi, and then rear ended some time later, so it was pretty much dead when I traded a local wrecking yard in Calgary 75 bucks for it!!

I'll have to post the story about the day the entire exhaust system fell off!! Keep an eye out over in the OT forum!

1984 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. 2.5 tons of V8 11mpg gas guzzling fun. The things was a beast off-road and I beat the hell out of it. It stalled alot, the brakes were crap, I ripped the whole cat back off, and it was huge. I miss it though, I'll probably buy another one when I have the means. http://subedude.boltpages.com/

I'm 36, have been driving since 1982 and have owned a total of 54 cars/trucks and one motorcycle, though not all of them ran or ever did. You can see the list of them at: http://www.mongrelmotorsports.homestead.com/misc.html
My first was a 1971 pea green Jeep Commando, V6 4 speed. You always love your first car no matter how bad it is, but this is one I would never want back again.
My favorite car was a '78 Ford Fiesta Mk1. I paid $65 for it.
My least favorite was the '81 Charger 2.2. What a POS, even worse than my $250 pea green '74 Pinto (bad head gasket & cam).
I really like the Impreza. Too bad it's actually my wife's car

'67 buick Riviera. cool car. had a 430 V8. RIP 1987.

'99 Subaru Outback. The best vehicle I've owned, and one of the best I've ever driven. Still miss the 'yoda, though.
