Default my txs stage 4 car is pretty slow, help!

im using the stock base stage 4 map. ran a 13.57@101.67 mph, i forgot if this was on race gas or not (less than half tank plus 1 gallon of 104), ran a 13.60@101mph with regular gas. thing is my regular boost peaks to around 1.2 bars in second gear and tapers to around 1.05 by 7k rpm. with the race gas i was able to run 1.3-1.35 bars in 2nd gear and it still tapered, aroudn 1.4 bars in 4th gear. thing is with the extra boost and race gas, my car didn't feel faster. i know my car needs dyno tuning b/c i have a good 20-30 whp to gain, but seems like i can't get the damn boost to hold, anyone know why my car didn't get faster iwth the extra boost and race gas?

Extra boost does not always mean more power. Dyno runs with my car show no real power difference between 17 psi and 19 psi. Timing makes a difference as well as tuning the fuel. That stage4 base map is rich and you will not be making the most of the race gas running rich.

Your boost is tapering down becuase that is what the stage4 map is designed to do. Taper boost at higher rpms. It's also a good thing to taper the boost at high rpm's. You don't need all that boost at the top end to continue to make good power.

I suggest a dyno tune. Get those AFR's under control and it will also be a great place to play with the boost. It's a very good controlled environment.

FYI - My Stage 4 dyno's in at 270 WHP on a mustang dyno running 92 octane petrol. (I do also have water injection)

Have fun and 13.5 is not too bad a time. Trust me, I've seen worse.

Cheers

Mick

You have bigger problems than first seen. Something is very wrong with your setup. I suggets reading other posts on low boost values to try and understand what is wrong with your setup.

i know for sure i have a bad solenoid, the typically problem many get when they don't use the boost solenoid for a while and t ry to plug it back in.

Default dyno tune

I just dyno'd last night and in an hour i picked up 36 whp. I had also just installed stg 4. Also replace that solenoid.

Since you might be replacing the stock solonoid you might want to think about getting a MBC or EBC. That will help you hold boost all the way to redline.

i find that with an mbc the boost spikes then settles leaving me with a tapering effect.
