Default Loss of low end torque with intake and exhaust?

Just added a GReddy EVO exhaust and a Ganzflo intake. Yeah, the car is faster, more power at higher RPM and faster launch, but here comes the disappointment. I felt my subbie has lost some lower torques, especially in 5th gear.

Is it a normal scene with all the aftermarket exhausts on your RS? Or it's just happened with GReddy EVO? Now it just begs me more to rev it higher RPM before I shift

Yeah, a Ganzflow intake with OEM filter I think cuz just been to the dealer not long ago for 30kmiles service. And the diameter of the GReddy EVO is a rice pipe whooping 4"!!!

So what do ya think of my lost torqued scooby Jamie? And anyone else got any ideas? Would a oil plus K&N filter change do some magic here?

Is that the tip or actual piping. Thatís probably the reason. The biggest you really want to go on a N/A is 2.5.

Oops, my mistake! I actually measured the muffler end tip as I thought is piping diameter

I suck @ tunning knowledge.

A noticable drop in torque from just an axel back? The scrubs driving big lawn mower engines (read - Civics) usually don't have a problem.

I have installed a 5zigen cat back and have seen no torque loss. I hate the exhaust though if that helps.

It could be that your mods only gave you high end power making it seem like you've lost low end. This could all be in your head.

I didn't lose low end until I redid the whole exhuast. Although I did lose some it isn't too bad.

You can't lose something you never had in the first place (read - torque)

What you got? GReddy EVO as well? I just hate to downshift to pass by some slower traffic and that roaring sound attract some un-wanted attention

I also notice some back firing as well. Is it normal with bigger exhaust?

I get a lot of pops and gurgles with my exhaust, it's just the nature of the beast when you have large pipes.

Borla headers, custom hiflow cat and midpipe, and a semi gutted wrx muffler.

Heck I got a ton of pops before I did the exhaust, you just notice them a whole lot more now. It's normal on our cars since they tend to run rich.
