Question Blitz Nur Spec Universal mufflers... (semi-long)

Hi guys, was wondering what is the difference between the universal muffler and the axle back version of the Blitz Nur Spec in construction, sound and performance? (aside from the obvious extra piping on the axle back) Also the rear section of the axle back goes from a 2.25 inch flange to approx. 3 inch inlet on the muffler itself, does this make any differences as opposed to getting a pipe that is 2.25 inches on both ends? The reason I am asking is that I am planning to hook up a Blitz to an APEXi N1 midpipe and would need to modify the axle back to connect the two, but if the universal is essentially the same as the axle back, then it would be cheaper to add the rear section on as a whole rather than cut and weld new flanges and extensions. But I think the universal is not the same, and maybe lesser in quality. Heck it may not even work on the Subie at all. The car I have is a MY00 RS coupe N/A (of course). Anyone out there with experience between the two mufflers and can help me on this? Thanks in advance.

Best to go with the universal.

I've got the NurSpec rear section and its meant for the GC WRX's, so yea, 3" piping. No idea how big the Apex'i midpipe is but if its not 3" you're going to have to make new flanges.

Your Blitz setup was probably for the GDA, they make two types in the axle-back/catback. One for the N/A GC8's (with the 2.25 inch flange) and one for the Turbo'd GDA's (with 3 inch piping because the turbos need the extra size). I was wondering on the GC8 version if there was any differences with the univerals? To me the universal is meant to go on nearly any vehicle and just make a pipe to connect to the rest of the exhaust. But I think that the muffler is cheaper in make/design than the specific ones for the GC8's. Again not completely sure about the quality between the two, would like to verify this so I can decide which to go get.

PS: If anyone has the Blitz Nur Spec for GC8 available, please let me know.
