Default new utec=question

Im picking up my utec tomorow from my friend that just got an sti. I have a cel due to my downpipe so I was going to try to wait to install the utec until my mil eliminator was installed to fix the cel. My friend said that its possible to fix the cel with the utec and that the mil eliminator wasn't necessary. Is this true??? If so, how do I make it happen?
thanks!

Yes, it's easy. CEL disable mode. You need a laptop or disable the CEL before you put in the UTEC (with a 9v powering the utec) and your home PC.
Hope that helps!

That would be my favorite feature! Just install the UTEC as normal, and use your laptop to access it(which you are going to have to do anyway) and disable it in the parameters section.

It's all in the MANUAL.

Default Disable

Disable does not fix the cel. It just makes it so the check engine light does not stay on. If you pull the cel codes they are still there you just don't have to look at them anymore.
