Default Idea for an "easier" DIY IC spray

This idea has been bouncing around my head for a while now, but i dont know all that much about the wiring for the windshield wipers so im gonna post my idea here, and you guys tell me if this idea can work.

What i was thinking of doing is to first, place 2 windshield spray nozels some where on the IC or in the scoop to spray into the IC.

Then removed the hose from the stock nozzels for the windshield and connect them onto the IC nozels.

After that, fill the windshield spray bottle with water.

Now heres the part i have been curious about. Can we remove a fuse or cut a wire, that would allow us to just operate the windshield spray pump without using the wipers?

If you dont understand what i mean. I want to use the windshield wiper cleaner button ONLY for the pump and make it so the wipers do not fuction when pushing this button. But only work when pulling the lever down for standard operation in the rain.

Then we will have a simple DIY IC spray for free...

Anyidea post them, tell me if you think this would work, somehow..

how about wire the switch to the pump directly. Just you need to make sure that getting 12v to the pump wont activate the wipers

Put a toggle switch that separates/connects the ground wire from the wiper motor. Then you just have to flick the switch and not even worry about remounting the ground or storing the fuse somewhere.

The windshield nozzles aren't a good misting nozzle though

yeah it'll work. Some people still want their windshield wipers so they can't do this.

bump from the dead...I have the same question as the original poster.

Is there any simple way, just pulling a fuse or wire, that I can stop the windshield wipers from going when I push the washer spray button?

Been thinking of other ways to get this done. Been thinking of modified brake line.

yep i did it, it's easy. if you want help with the wiring --- here ya go

the washer works funny. There isn't a static ground--- it switches when the system turns on. I used a voltmeter, but I'll make it easy on you. Here's how to hook it up

Ground is on the right of the washer pump (standing infront of it while it's installed 2002 wrx), green on the left is power from the toggle switch in the picture below.

Disconnect existing connections and you'll see the prongs you can easily attach any female style clip to. I used electrical tape to separate the two because with water shooting around in the engine compartment i didn't want any cross-over drips to short out the motor. I suggest you do the same. I used a toggle switch ran from mirror power supply, and used the available switch slot by the shifter, next to the ebrake. It looks nice, and works great. Friends love it, got some really good compliments. I am also hooking up a thermometer to run inside of the ram air duct to keep an eye on temps, as well as running a temp sensor before my throttle body to measure post intercooled air---

well as long as you have a sedan you can do it like i did, there is actualy a spot you can take out of the bottle, and just add in another pump, (the one for the rear sprayer on a wagon) then run the spare plug that is there to it, and then there is a while with a blue line on it under the steering wheel that goes no where. put that to a toggle, and then run a ground. there is a good write up around here some where, just been a few months since i saw it, and did the mod, i know there was also a good write up on it on club wrx i believe

yes that will work too! Then you get to save your wipers lol-- you could also use any generic pump you'd find at the autoparts store with the same bung size--- if not use some gaskets and silicon to make it work. Save a couple bucks.

You could also put a liquid valve with tubes running into the car through the firewall and use it as a switch back and forth with your wipers if you want to use what's there and not spend much money. If your creative, it might look pretty cool.
