Default 2.5RS sound like STi?

Is there a general cat-back or otherwise that will make my na 2.5 sound similar to the turbo 2.5. Specifically I am looking at volume wise. Will a STi cat-back so something close to it or are there any aftermarket (this would be better since anything is cheaper than STI) that sound as loud as the STi?

So if this has been reposted before I couldn't find what I wanted in search.

Borla headers...

buy them direct form www.borla.com

And some sort of cat back. Stromung, Brullen and Magnaflow custom made will give you a deep sound.

The STi isnt that loud. But to be as loud as an STi with exhuast there is only one thing that will make you as loud, a turbo!

borla headers definately made my car sound like a wrx, i also have a scoobysport backbox so its loud. perhaps if you use borla headers with a wrx axleback it wont be that loud but you will still get the growl.

I am pretty sure the deep sound could be achieved with almost any exhaust correct? I just need to find one that is as quiet as the STi.

I guess I should have asked. I belive the STi exhaust to be pretty quiet. Is this true or is it about as loud as any aftermarket exhaust?

If you like more boxer sound out of ur scooby, get a Scooby Sports exhaust! It looks quite skinny-the exhuast tip, but it delievers an amazing boxer sound! It's the best I've ever heard

The one similar to STi? *Prodrive*

Yah, you are right, the STi is pretty quiet. I was at Vishnu on SUnday for a Dyno day and of all the cars there (mostly EVO's) the STi was by far the quietest, except the one stock WRX.

I've got the sti axleback on my gc. It is very quiet... a good rumble, but definately not loud. Picks up at WOT though.. used to have some soundclips, I'll look for them, but I think I lost them when I reformated.

I could take some more clips tommorow but I have the cobb intake now so it kind of cancels it out....

edit: ahh found a vid clip!

I'm not sure what you are talking about as far as volume goes, a turbo actually quiets the exhaust quite a bit. In order to get a louder exhaust note, you could just change your muffler.

I heard a STi with a GP Moto cat back exhaust up at Rallitek in Portland, OR the other day. Good god it sounded so loud even at idle.

if im reading correctly, what you are looking for is the growl sound but at stock noise levels. In which case most aftermarket exhausts will be louder than what you are looking for. Borla headers will give you the choppy "wrx" sound.

first i only had a scoobysport catback on my 2002 rs, and it was fairly loud and pretty deep. It did not sound as choppy as the sti or wrx. it was higher pitched, and the exhaust pulses sounded much closer together. once i put on the borlas each exhaust pulse became way more enhanced, a much choppier, burbly sound, exactly like that of a wrx with a turbo back. very deep sounding. However it is pretty loud now.

If you want it louder than just headers/cat back you can always do a high flow cat but that depends on how much you can tolerate.
