Crush Washer Orientation

A quick search yielded a bunch about the Crush Washer [oil drain plug]; however, I really didn't find any information on which direction it's placed onto the drain plug. Just a quick poll of how you guys put it on.....

I usually place it flat side facing the bolt so that the rounded side can fit into the drain hole and seal it up.

Flat side goes flush against the drain bolt. Other side gets crushed up against the oil pan to seal it.
