Default Access stg 2//deadbolts monster port and polish

Any body running this setup?? Im thinking of dumping my unichip stg 2 and going with the Access stg 2 .I talked to Josh at Cobb and he said it would probably work and deadbolt said he sees no probs.Other then the upgraded turbo all my mods fit the Access stg 2 setup just fine.Any body have any ideas why it wouldnt work before i send the ECU off to Cobb fr the reflash?

Thanks
Rudy

Cobb offers an unconditional 30 day money-back guarantee, so you really do have nothing to lose (other than shipping costs of course).

I'd like to try the Ion TD04 and the stage 2....sounds like it'd be a nice combo

Has anyone had a chance to try this combo yet? I am leaning this way myself.

the only problem I see is that you won't be able to take advantage of the higher boost you can run with a differant turbo. Or does the monster porting not change the amount of boost it can handle?

i would go either ion or monster deadbolt(cheaper) but we'd have to wait for cobb to release a map with the accessport to take full advantage.

but even without the ability to take full advantage it should be better then the stocker on the top end. It must spool a little faster and i wouldn't mind that at all.

The ion and forced performance or more expensive. The deadbolt is around 400. If you send them yours, they'll inpect, port+polish, and ceramic coat for about 300. It's 475 for a fully rebuilt monster td04 i believe.

so who's going to volinteer to be the first with cobb stage 2 to try this out? It would be nice if someone near their shop would do it so they could get a dyno tuned map to give to others.

Deadbolt's P&P fee is $200 if you send him your turbo.

I ran a Deadbolt P&P with compressor outlet P&P ($50 more) for over a year on a Cobb Stage 2. Both Jerry and Cobb said it would be OK and it was. Until I started adding more crap to my Stage 2. Headers, uppipe, pulley, Ver 7 STi TMIC, and other bits..... After dynoing at regular Cobb Stage 2 HP levels, I went to a custom EcuTek and gained 30 WHP. This was 100% my fault, not Cobb's, as I was going WAY outside the things they "support". One or two bolts ons is fine, 5 or 6....not so much.

I'd recommend this turbo with a Cobb Stage 2 as it does add boost earlier, which shifts your powerband LEFT (VERY good thing) and gives you more downlow torque. To go to another Vendor, such as ION or FP, I'm not sure of as those guys generally do compressor wheel swaps which increase HP. That would be BAD ju-ju. Deadbolt's turbo just allows for quicker boost, which brings on torque lower, and no change to the end HP. The compressor outlet porting may give less than 5 more HP, but it isn't enough to fool with Cobb's mapping.

Cliffs: Deadbolt + Cobb Stage 2 = teh win!

here is some info I thought useful.

ion puts out over 100 cfm more.

stage2 runs close to 90% IDC.

joe

ps. I have a ion stage 1 and am hoping to have it on once I find the coolant leak.
