Question charlotte dealership for STi service ?

Any STi owners in Charlotte taken their car to Folger's or Hunter for service ? any recommendations ?

I've heard Prestige in Asheville is hands down the best place nearby to take Subaru's but would rather not drive the 2 hours.

Also, can anybody recommend a local, non dealership mechanic ?

I'm coming up on the 1,000 mile mark and need to get the oil changed and possibly aligned/tires balanced, car has slight pull left.

Woah....STi in Charlotte....haven't seen you around.
And back to the topic, dont EVER go to Folger or Hunter. Let me just put it in two words, THEY SUCK. I suggest you change the oil yourself, if not, i'd love to change the oil for ya if that's what it takes for me to drool all over your STi . And as alignments go, go to a tire store that has life time alignments for $60, trust me, you'll need it later on. I believe Bridgestone has those specials.
But if you still want to take it to a dealer, I dont think Prestige is worth the drive just for oil change and alignments.

Well I guess we are screwed in NC because "Performance in Chapel Hill also blows. Took my car in for the steering wheel problem and I told the service manager to check Camber, toe ETC ETC Alignment stuff and he never printed me a report for it so I assumed he never did it. To be short in this post I am going back tommorrow because my steering is still corky and I am sure now they never did the algniment checks as I asked

One more screw up and I am taking my car to Fayetteville for all services. "Sam J" will do me right since he owns the joint

I had a WRX before I got my STI, and let me tell you not to even bother going to either of the dealerships. Do youself a BIG favor and drive to Prestige. Yes, the drive is ~2hours, but for the quality of work and level of service is mroe than worth it. If it's a really small thing fix it yourself, but if something is truly bothering you with the car it is worth the drive.

Thanks for the replies, looks like a lot of us in NC are stuck with crappy dealerships. Anything major/warranty related I'll take to Prestige.

I'm going to have to learn to change the oil on my own, worth it for the peace of mind...anybody local (Obsidian ?) with an STi change their own oil ? Any adivce, tips ?

Changing the oil is easy. Not sure what filter or oil the STi takes (i have a WRX), but what i do is i buy the oil filter and the gasket fromt he dealer. Not sure what oil STi takes but i'm using mobil1 Syn. 10W 30.
