HELP! MSD rpm window switch wiring...
where does the yellow wire tap into the circuit? i am assuming it taps into the wire between the microswitch and the toggle arming switch. i just need clarification since i already blew a fuse trying to use a shortcut. jason

jason,
what is the purpose of the microswitch? is it only there to arm the circuit at a certain throttle position? do the switches have any more than 2 terminals? ken |

the toggle arming switch only has 2 terminals. the 1 that came with the nitrous kit has 3, but the 3rd goes to gnd so that the toggle switch can light up, it was an optional terminal according to NOS instructions. i decided to go with a 2 terminal toggle switch instead. the lighted toggle switch was kinda cheesy. jason |

could it be then that the "toggle switch ground" wire from the msd controller was designed to go to the ground of the lighted toggle switch so that it only illuminated when the window switch was "on?"

oh 5h1t... i just realized what's going on!!! i had a look here and it all made sense.
the msd switch doesn't provide a switched 12vdc... it provides a switched GROUND circuit. that means when the window is "closed" it grounds out the yellow wire. so what you need to do is: +12vdc -- arming toggle arming toggle -- microswitch microswtich -- nitrous relay nitrous relay -- yellow wire of the MSD controller this is definitely what's going on! hth ken |

are you sure about that?
it does make sense that the red wire inbetween the power relay and the microswitch is the gnd wire and the one i need to tap, since the other wire inbetween the microswitch and the toggle switch is a 12 volt source. oh well, i'll have to try it. let you know in a few hours. thanks jason |
