Default Alternator fitment on EJ25

Does anyone know if a WRX alternator will fit on a 2.5RS?

Don't think so but even if it does you wouldn't want to do it, the WRX alternator is only rated at 75A vs. 90A for the RS.

No it won't fit. It was tried on my turbo rs setup a few weeks ago. No luck. Although, I would be more comfertable if someone else would chime in with an answer because I am not 100% sure as I was doing something else when a friend of mine was testing the fitment.

you are correct, the casingon the RS alternator is wider. I am the person putting his car together so i know first hand. the casings look identical but have different part numbers.

Good, news it did fit. The back bracket that connects to the A/C compressor was a little too narrow, about 1/16th on an inch, but with a little manipulation we were able to get it to fit.

Thread from the Dead Bump!

So would a WRX alternator ('02-'05) fit on a 98 OBS? Any idea?
