Question Garage full of smoke... ??

Hey guys and gals,

I just got my new baby home (37 miles on it now !!) and parked it in the garage. When I went back to check on (erm... admire) it ten minutes later, the garage was full of smoke. It was thick enough to see quite well. I assumed this was just that crud they spray on the bottom for shipping burning off. Right?

Thanks!

Either that or your garage was on fire.

speaking of which, i thinking that the spraying properties of worstechire (sp?) would make it a better ic spraying liquid rather than the bbq sauce discussed earlier

Seriously... there is a fair bit of the waxy stuff on the bottom of my car. I drove 100 miles home from the dealer non-stop so I didn't notice any smoke. It might be wax on the exhaust. Also check the transmission dipstick and make sure it's all the way in. Could be the dealer topped something up and spilled some oil...

At least somebody isn't a joker around here. Thanks!

Oh, my garage wasn't on fire. I've got 104 miles on it now and the smell is still there, but the smoke is isn't .

STi's just rock (even when they fill your garage with smoke).

Did you also check to see if they removed the strut bags? Look under your wheel wells.

Actually, as I was taking delivery of the car (about 10 minutes before driving it away) I checked for that specifically because I'd read that several STi's had them left on after dealer prep. Sure enough, there they were .

it's the undercoating burning off your exhaust pipes.
