Default Gearset needed for 18g??? I need some help please!!

Well,
I dont have the money for the 6 speed or the gearset. I do have the money to go ahead and get my supporting mods for the turbo though(pump, injectors). I will be getting this turbo at Christmas time. I just want to know if you guys think that my old tranny will last until next summer when I will be able to make enough money for the gearset. If not, I guess I will have to save up and get the tranny or gearset earlier.

Thanks guys!!

Richard Jackson

It's all how ya treat it man. There is a chance that you might make enough power to bust a gear mid pull but I doubt it. Of course, if you do a lot of clutch dumps, chances are that it will go at sometime. My advise is to run the stock gearblox until it blows. With enough caution it should last you as long as you need it.

p.s. If it does go in mid pull (2nd or 3rd gear) think of it as a medal of distinction! Your car must be making some serious power!
