Default STi throttle response?

any STi owners care to enlighten me w/ how crisp the throttle response is when, say, blipping the throttle on a heel-toe downshift? it sucks on my wrx (even after vishnu stg 0 reflash) and it's been bugging the heck out of me for the past 2 years. if the STi responds like an NA engine, i'd consider trading up. if not, well...

thanks

id say 80% of how an NA motor feels. na = instant. STi = almost but not quite. maybe its the DBW doing its magic. going from a miata to the STi, it took a little bit at first (getting the heel-toeing down)...but even that was mostly because the brakes are much more sensitive. its quite easy to rev match quickly in the STi. im sure after one drive, you wont even care. haha.

thanks, happasaiyan. i guess i should try and get out to my dealer and take one for short spin. don't want to get another car w/ such a sappy throttle response.

it's not sappy at all, don't worry about it.

I came from a 1995 Honda Prelude VTEC that had a 10lbs JUN ultra-lightweight flywheel in it. Let me tell you, there is a differnce but not much of a difference at all. I said it once and i'll keep saying it, the STi motor doesn't act like your typical turbocharged motor. Linear, responsive and powerful. It acts very much like my bro's E36 M3 powerplant. Except one thing, it's much more powerful Go drive one...
